- Identify and interview fifty (50) upstream and downstream companies that rely on the industry and ascertain the importance and impact of the banana industry on these businesses and on regional communities,
- Deliver comprehensive analysis of the economic contribution and impact of the Australian Banana Industry to regional and national economies.
Outcomes
Delivered a comprehensive report clearly defining direct and indirect contribution of the industry including; employment, employment multipliers, industry output, output multipliers, share of regional business turnover and share of regional employment. This Information is now actively in use by industry, as it addresses significant new challenges including major plant pest incursion and response.
